Parents in Partnership (Northamptonshire)| Manfield Court| Manfield Campus| Kettering Road | Northampton| Northamptonshire| NN3 6NP. Registered Charity No. 1063093 |
Who are Parents in Partnership? We are an independent voluntary organisation, formed in 1988 to provide advocacy support to all unpaid parent/carers of someone with a learning disability within Northamptonshire. Since 1992 we have provided that support through a high quality free advocacy service and became a registered charity in June 1997. Parents in Partnership is also known as PiP. We are recognised by professionals as being an important registered charity organisation for family carers within Northamptonshire. |

What is Advocacy? Advocacy means speaking on behalf of someone, or representing their needs, in order to safeguard that person’s interests and rights. |
What kind of things can PiP help with? We work throughout all areas of health and social care, and both adult and children’s services. Unfortunately we do not have funding to provide support for educational issues, but can provide details of who can. We can make phone calls, support with writing letters and attending meetings. Some of the things we can help with include: appealing against decisions, assist you in making a complaint, getting information about services, attending review meetings, liaising with professionals. We can help if there is a stumbling block, or if relationships with professionals are difficult. |
How will I be supported? The type of support offered depends on the nature of the situation. Initial discussions usually take place over the telephone. An Advocate might then visit you to discuss the situation further. We always make a plan of action with you so you know what to expect. The advocates are on the side of unpaid carers, and will represent your views. Support is free, independent and confidential. |
SUPPORT IS FREE, INDEPENDENT & CONFIDENTIAL |
